Shakeizia “Kezi” Jones
Kezi is the Program Manager serving the Gulf Coast Healthy Communities Collaborative and Healthy Families Mothers & Babies Initiative.
She earned a master’s degree from Columbia Southern University in Public Health with an emphasis on Health Promotion. Her undergraduate degree is from the University of Southern Mississippi in Public Health.
Kezi is Certified by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc., as a Certified Health Education Specialist. Her passion for community derives from her childhood where she volunteered for numerous non-profit organizations and developed a sense of leadership skills and community organizing. She has experience as the Health Promotions Manager for the American Lung Association and the Mississippi Tobacco Free Coalitions for Hancock and Pearl River Counties in grassroots organizing, grant management, and lobbying for increased recognition of preventative and promoted measures at the population level. She also gained experience in Clinical Research while employed by Tulane University as a Clinical Research Coordinator.
Kezi understands the need for collaboration to promote Healthier Communities. The Healthy Families Mothers & Babies Initiative is highly important to her both professionally and personally-- because she and her husband are expecting their first baby in August 2019!
