The Croesus Alley is located in Downtown Biloxi and serves as a connection between a major parking lot and the Downtown Hospital. The Alley also runs between two of the largest downtown nightclubs in Biloxi. The opportunity to enhance this underused and overlooked public space could not be missed. Following the principles of placemaking, "Lighter, Quicker, Cheaper" we transformed this alley into a linear park with seating, native plants, and crushed fines to improve drainage. The collaboration between GCCDS, Biloxi Main Street Association, Biloxi Public Works Department, and Women in Construction made this project possible.
