Heidi Schattin is an intern architect with the Gulf Coast Community Design Studio. She grew up in rural Pennsylvania but steadily migrated southward, having lived in Tennessee, Alabama, and now coastal Mississippi. Heidi earned her Bachelor's Degree of Architecture from Auburn University, where she discovered her passion for social architecture while studying as a second year and Thesis student at the Rural Studio. Upon graduation, she ventured to Sydney, Australia where she found work in architecture firms, with a focus on energy efficiency and “green” building materials. Back in the States, Heidi worked alongside the Design Studio while employed with Habitat for Humanity of the Mississippi Gulf Coast for five years. She is happy to have joined the team at GCCDS where she is able to combine her technical experience with more creative and community-oriented design work.
When not at work, Heidi will mostly likely be found at her house she is renovating or participating in coastal festivities.
